Edward W. Liubakka

October 25, 1960 — December 18, 2021

Edward William Liubakka, 61, of Oconto, WI, passed away on December 18, 2021. Ed suffered from a terrible form of dementia called Frontotemporal Dementia which strikes people in their prime of life. Ed was born on October 25, 1960 to Arthur and Patricia Liubakka in Marquette, Michigan. The family had a large sheep farm and Ed enjoyed telling stories of sheering sheep for neighboring farmers. He attended Michigan State to become a certified mechanic. He had several jobs to include Cloverland manufacturing in Escanaba. His last place of employment was Georgia Pacific where he was a supervisor. He was unendingly proud of the life he built with Carla in Oconto and his children Bill, Holly, grandsons Myles, Hayden and granddaughters Maci and Sylvie. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world.
Ed had an amazing sense of humor and was often the life of the party. He loved the outdoors. Favorite past times were going to state fairs, attending Summerfest, traveling, hunting, camping, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Ed was a force of nature, never sitting still for long. He made many friends along the way; he was just the kind of person who drew people in. He never lost his childlike spirit and love for life. Anyone who knew Ed knew that he was the most loving husband and father a family could ask for and a generous loyal friend you could always count on.
Ed was preceded in death by his grandparents, several uncles and aunts. He is survived by his soulmate, love of his life Carla Liubakka, children Bill (Lynn) Liubakka, Holly (Jon) Kersten, stepchildren Craig Spice Jr, Cheri (Dustin) Stage, siblings; Cindy (Paul) Kuczara, Thomas (Anita) Liubakka, Patty-Tricia (Dan) Hinds and Sherry Koch, multiple nieces and nephews.
Would like to thank the staff at Azura Memory Care in Oshkosh and Generations Hospice for their care of Ed. We will have a celebration of life for Ed in the spring.
