Elaine E. Books, 72 of Oshkosh died at mercy Medical Center on Friday December 28, 2007. She was born in Appleton on November 15, 1935, a daughter of the late Eldor and Jeanette Fielding Wischow. She married Richard R. Books on April 18, 1959 in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1985.Elaine retired from SNC Manufacturing Inc. She was a member of Christian Life Center in Neenah, and a member of the Am Vets Auxillary. Elaine enjoyed spending time at her trailer, fishing and water aerobics at the YMCA. While at home she liked to cook, knit, crochet, and gardening.Survivors include one son, Terry (Marie Novachek) Books, Oshkosh; one daughter, Cheryl Kay (Bill) Books-Buxton, Oshkosh; two sisters, Lorraine (Wayne) Steinbach, Oshkosh; Judy (Mark Livingston) Sawicki, Oshkosh; three grandchildren, Anthony Books, Teresa Novachek, Richard Novachek; and two great grandchildren, Danta and Mason Wills, all of Oshkosh. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Ronald and James Wischow.Funeral services will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside TODAY December 31, 2007 at 4:00 PM with Pastor Phil Bridges officiating. Visitation will precede the service at the funeral home from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. An AmVet Aux. service will be held at 3:30 PM. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial has been established.A special thank you to the staff of the emergency department and intensive care unit at Mercy Medical Center, for their care and compassion given to our dear mother during her illness.
