Elaine J. Christilaw, 79, of Oshkosh passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, October 20, 2010. Elaine was born on January 8, 1931 in Oshkosh to Edward and Rose Hedtke. She married James L. Christilaw on August 26, 1950. Elaine worked at Miles Kimball for many years and then worked at UW-Oshkosh, retiring in 1994. Elaine loved flower gardening, square dancing and camping with Timber Toppers, playing bingo and going to Oneida with her brothers and sisters. She would never say no to How about a game of cards? Elaine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Dorcas circle. She loved sharing meals with UWO retirees and Miles Kimball ladies with whom she remained friends for 60 years. She was also a Red Hatter. Elaine looked forward to Fridays filled with rummage saleing and lunches with her girls and sister, Margie.Elaine is survived by her husband of 60 years, James, and her seven daughters. Karen (Bill) Larson and her sons, Christopher and Matthew Brown. Jan (Jeff) Dorner and children; Jason (Sunshine) Duex, Kellen (Jenny) Dorner, Bethany and Mera. Denise (Eddie) Belfeuil and children; Lisa (Chris) Hunt and sons Kyle and Adam, Beth Belfeuil (friend Scott) and sons Alec Harrah and Brett and Cody Schmitz, Josh Belfeuil and daughters Aubrie and Kira. Kim (Pat) Helbling and children; Jeremy (Lisa) Helbling, Angela (Dan) Gibbs and children Joey and Lizzie. Joby Proctor (friend Bob) and daughter; Marie (John) Knudtson and children Cliff and Kassie[Kaz]. Gail Christilaw. Lori Christilaw. She is also survived by sister, Margie Hedtke, and brothers, Don (Joan) Hedtke and Jerry (Mary Kay) Hedtke.Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Robert (Sally) and Dennis, and sisters Jane Hedtke, Shirley (Loren) Coates, and Betty (Phil) Williams.Services will be held Sunday, October 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 370 Bowen Street in Oshkosh. Visitation will be 3-5pm with a funeral service at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her name.Elaines family would like to thank her medical angels; Dr. Karen Gremminger and her staff and the wonderful caregivers at Sterling House. Thank you for all you have done for her.
