Eleanor Dorothy Burman

Eleanor D. Burman, 85, of Oshkosh died Monday Sept. 6, 2010 at Northpoint Medical & Rehabilitation. She was born April 19, 1925 in Milwaukee a daughter of the late Harold Sr. and Eleanor B. (Knoll) Dawson. Eleanor married Marvin G. Burman on Feb. 8, 1947 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1968. Eleanor retired from UW-O Blackhawk Commons, where she worked in the Food Service Department. She was a member of St. Jude Parish and liked playing bingo, doing crossword, and spending time with her family. Her survivors include two daughters Judy Burman of Oshkosh and Sharon Burman of Oshkosh; a grandson Michael (Mary Anne) Burman of Oshkosh; two great-grandchildren Matthew and Kaley; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by three sisters Faith Glasford, Ruth Dadas, and Mary Jane Hanel, and two brothers Harold Dawson Jr. and her twin Edward Dawson. In honor of Eleanor a memorial luncheon for family and friends will be held on Sept. 19, 2010 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the home of her grandson (1510 Adams Ave., Oshkosh). Her family extends a special thanks to Heartland Hospice, especially Becky, for the care given to Eleanor.
