Elizabeth Trickel

Elizabeth M. Trickel, age 95, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday October 27, 2009 at Lakeshore Manor. She was born on February 21, 1914, a daughter of Charles and Martha Buettner Schmidt. She married William Trickel in 1930. He preceded her in death in 1969. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and belonged to many church circles. She was active at the Neighborhood Center where she cooked many of the meals at First English, belonged to the Twentieth Century Club, the Oshkosh Public Museum Auxillary and was an EAA volunteer for many years. She was a chaperone for the Miss Wisconsin Pageant, a scouting den mother, and belonged to many Bridge Circles. In her working career she worked for Bethel Home until she retired at the age of 72 and she also owned a Catering Business with her sister Judy Bidwell, with which many of the family helped with. She enjoyed going to the families land in northern Wisconsin. She traveled extensively, visiting all the states in the continental United States and Hawaii and also traveled throughout Europe. She is survived by three sons - Bill(Delores) Trickel, Bruce(Louise) Trickel, Brent(Doris) Trickel, one brother GeorgeBud Schmidt. 9 grandchildren - Richard(Rita) Trickel, Bryan(Gretta) Trickel, Amy Trickel, Barton Trickel, Thomas(Stacy) Trickel, Andrew(Kim) Trickel, Mary(Bob) Madison, Steven Trickel, Elizabeth(Daniel) Waller. 13 great-grandchildren - Heather(Joshua) Foote, Matthew(Joy Lynn) Trickel, Carrie Trickel, Sophie Trickel, Payton Trickel, Erich Trickel, Connor Madison, Marshal Madison, Mollie(Chad Meartz) Lincoln-Waller, Joshua Lincoln-Waller, Gabrielle Lincoln-Waller, Andrew Waller, Katlin Waller. 4 great-great-grandchildren - Ayden Foote, Kieran Foote, Trevor Foote, Maddalyn Meartz, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Edward Schmidt, Robert Schmidt, and Chuck Schmidt, two sisters Hazel Walsh, and Judy(Barney) Bidwell, and one son Lee Trickel. A memorial service for Elizabeth will be held on Thursday November 5, 2009 at 3 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside with Richard Trickel, Elizabeths grandson officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park. Donations to the memorial being established in Elizabeths name would be appreciated.Thank you to all the staff at Lakeshore Manor for the excellent care, Heartland Hospice and Bryan Neglar for all the help.
