Elma Luther, 87, of Oshkosh, died unexpectedly on Saturday May 6, 2006 at the Aurora Medical Center. She was born in Oshkosh on October 25, 1918 the daughter of Henry and Anna Marie Weigandt Luft. On June 30, 1950 she married Edwin H. Luther in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1987. Elma was a lifelong resident of Oshkosh. She was a graduate of Oshkosh High School and the Oshkosh Business College. Prior to her marriage, she worked at Wisconsin Public Service Corp. Later in life, before her retirement she was employed by the Wisconsin Axle Credit Union. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, and was an active in the Dorcas Circle. She had a wide circle of friends and a busy social life. She found joy in many things. She liked being outdoors gardening and walking. She loved her family and she often traveled with them and to see them. Surviving Elma are her daughters and their husbands, Ann Marie Luther (Alan Vlach) of Trenton, ME, Jean Luther, (Hary Kozlowski) of Ingelside, IL, and Catherine Luther (Gerald Stadtmueller) of Oshkosh; a sister, Elizabeth (George) Lautenschlager of Terra Bella, CA; and three grandchildren, Nicholas, Edward, and Elizabeth Stadtmueller all of Oshkosh. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Katherine Parker, Pauline Luft, Mary Luft, and Margeret Waite.Elmas funeral will be on Friday May 12, 2006 at 3:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Melvin Ahlborn officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Elmas honor.
