Elsie Elizabeth Hansen

Elsie Hansen, a lifelong Oshkosh resident died on March 20th at Heritage Assisted Living in Eau Claire, Wi. Her family was at her side for her last days. She was born in Poy Sippi, WI on Jan. 6, 1914 to Henry & Anna Olsen. She was baptized and confirmed at the Poy Sippi Lutheran Church, and graduated from Berlin High School, and the Oshkosh Business College. Elsie married Frank Hansen on Aug. 17,1937 and enjoyed 61 years with him until his death in 1999. Their residence in Osbkosh for 11 years was at Carmel Residence Retirement Community. Elsie became a Registered Professional Secretary, and enjoyed working for over 30 years with the Irion, Reinke, Flansche, and Last Architectural firm. She was a member of Our Saviors Evangelical Lutheran Church, and participated actively in Mary Circle at the church. She also did volunteer work with the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. Her greatest joy were those times she spent with family and friends. She was a loving and compassionate wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was a gracious hostess, and the Spirit of our Lord was evident in her every action. Elsie is survived by two children. Raymond (Dawna) Hansen of Eau Claire and Mary (Gerald) Paulsen of Denver, CO; one sister Lenore (Robert) Williams of Oshkosh; six grandchildren, Michael Hansen of Arcadia, Jay Hansen of Neenah, Cindy (Bill) Corish and Chris (Annette)Paulsen both of Denver, CO. Fritz (Annukka) Paulsen of Summerville, SC, Bruce (Janice) Lane of Osseo; eight great grandchildren, Quentin & Evan Corish, Kira & Calvin Paulsen, Michelle & Justin Hansen, and Jill & Kia Lane. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Frank, and brothers Alvin, Anton, and Elmer. The funeral service will be at Our Saviors Evangelical Lutheran Church of Oshkosh with the Reverend Kemp Jones officiating. Family and friends may participate in visitation at the church on Friday March 23 at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park
