Ernest E. Gloyd

Ernest E. Gloyd, 76 of Oshkosh died unexpectedly Wednesday January 17, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Eagle River, WI on March 7, 1930 the son of Harlan and Ingrid Erickson Gloyd. On June 20, 1999 he married Sally Fox in Oshkosh.Ernest had been a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. He had served his country in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Panama during the Korean Conflict. He earned his Bachelors degree in Education from UW-Whitewater, Masters Degree in Mathematics from Marquette University in Milwaukee, and another Masters and a Doctorate in Statistics from UW-Madison. He enjoyed spending time with people and belonged to a Birthday Club and a coffee club at McDonalds and an afternoon coffee group.He is survived by his wife, Sally Gloyd of Oshkosh, his daughters, Lynn (Richard) Dolata of West Chester, PA, and Kirsten (Christopher) Mikulski of Oshkosh, sisters Joyce (Vincent) Friemoth of Fennimore, WI, and Doris (Louis) Treffinger of Conroe, TX, grandchildren, Liam, Ethan andGriffin Dolata of West Chester, PA, Kelsey Murphy, Erinn and Olivia Mikulski of Oshkosh, step sons, David (Holly) Handel of Janesville, WI, Rob (Karen) Fox of Visalia, CA, and Henry Fox of Monsey, NY, a step daughter, Christine (Thomas) Lazarski of Lindenhurst, IL, brother/in/law, Julius (Ernestine) Beegun of Niles, IL, step grandchildren, David (Nicki) Handel of Carey, IL, Braeden Handel, Jacob, Noah, Samuel and Benjamin Fox, and Lauren Lazarski, like a son, John Murphy of Oshkosh, his four legged son, Cosmo, and his ex, Nancy Swider of Port St. Jo, FL.A gathering of remembrance will be held on Saturday January 20, 2007 from 10:00 AM to Noon at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Christine Ann Center or to the charity of your choice.
