Ernest Michael Halasi

Ernest Mike M. Halasi, age 77, of Oshkosh, died Wednesday September 29, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on November 24, 1932 in South Bend, Indiana a son of Andrew and Marie Lengyl Halasi Sr. He married Mary Louise Mailahn on October 24, 1959 at Christ Lutheran Church by Rev. Alex Weinbender.He graduated from South Bend School of Die Design Engineering. He served in the United States Army serving with NATO Forces in Germany from 1951-1953. He worked at West Bend Aluminum for several years and worked at North American Rockwell for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of American Legion Cook-Fuller Post 70 and American Legion 40 & 8. He was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church where he had served on the church council.He is survived by his wife, one son Michael(Martha) Halasi of Green Bay, one daughter Ruth(Darren) Cheshier of Buckner, MO., grandchildren Andrew Cheshier of Missouri, Taylor Cheshier of Buckner, MO., Isaac Wells, Elsie Wells, Maya Wells all of Green Bay, one brother Alex Halasi, two sisters Elizabeth Kiggens and Helen Grams, nieces, nephews and his cherished pet, Celine.He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Steven, Frank, Andy Jr., his sisters Mary Nelson, Gizella Boggs, Ruby Wahl, Irene Nowaki, Ann Len.Funeral services for Ernest will be held on Monday October 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home - Westside with Rev. Michael Magnusen officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 Noon until the service time.A special thank you to the staff and Doctors at Mercy Medical Center who cared for Mike on his many trips to the hospital and to the best neighbors who did so much for us, Angie and Andy Roloff and Carol and Jack Fisher.
