Esther Helen Bathke

Esther H. Bathke, 97, of Oshkosh, died Wednesday June 7, 2006 at Bethel Home. She was born February 16, 1909 in Oshkosh, a daughter of Albert and Frieda Radig. Esther married Ruben Bathke in November 1926 in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1968.Esther worked 28 years at Deltox, and retired after 17 years from Winnebago Mental Health Institute. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Esther enjoyed baking, and was an avid knitter.She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Burlage of Lombard, IL, a son, Ruben (Joyce) Bathke of Oshkosh, a sister, Winifred (Gene) Brewer of Oshkosh, and two brothers, Orville of Omro, and Donald (Alice) Radig of Oshkosh; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters, Bernice Macho, Linda Schmidel, Mildred Hollub, and Ruth Case, two brothers, Milton and Jack Radig, and two brothers-in-law, Milton and Bernhard Bathke. Funeral service for Esther will be held Saturday June 10, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside with Rev. Ralph Hanusa officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 am until the hour of service. Burial will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Esthers family would like to thank the staff at Bethel Home one- west for their care and compassion.
