Eva Peterson

Eva C. Peterson, 85, of Oshkosh died on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center. Eva was born on February 20, 1928 in Waupaca the daughter of Oscar and Florence Rice Peterson. She grew up in the Town of Knox in Price County, WI. Eva attended Knox Mills Grade School and the Tri County High School at Tripoli. Eva also attended Wisconsin State University Stevens Point and UW Oshkosh. She taught school at Goodman, WI and Harvard, IL. Eva was employed by UW-Oshkosh Polk Library where she treasured connecting families to their ancestors through her work with genealogy until she retired in 1994. Continuing her love of genealogy Eva also volunteered at the Oshkosh Public Library. Eva had a gentle soul and a beautiful smile. She enjoyed the quiet things in life reading, sewing, crocheting, quilting, her bridge club, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her son Alan (Kay) Stenerson; daughters, Barbara (Gregory) Postl, Susan (Richard) Dillman, Carol (Jeffrey) Foust, and Wendy Stenerson, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Doyle Hanford Peterson, and son, Larry Stenerson.The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church, 110 Church Ave, Oshkosh from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. following the visitation. The heart has its own memory, like the mind. And in it are preserved the precious keepsakes of a loved one, remembering you always, and comforted by so many memories.
