Evelyn Dorothy Barber

Evelyn D. Barber, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center. Evelyn was born on December 2, 1917 in Chicago, IL., the daughter of John and Caroline (Marek) Dombrowski. She was united in marriage to John Barber on October 23, 1938. Their marriage was blessed with three children. John preceded her in death in 1979. Evelyn is further preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Otto Misch; step-brother, Edward Bud (Joyce) Misch; her step sister, LaVerne (Ed) Geletka; and daughter-in-law, Margrit Barber.Evelyn worked as an assembly worker for Miles Kimballs and Castle Pierce Printing. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran church and enjoyed playing cards and bowling.Evelyn will be sadly missed. She is survived by her son, Roger Barber; daughters, Janice (Glenn) Heugel; and Beverly (Jerry) Smerling; five grandchildren, Robbie (Veronica) Heugel; Dee Ann (Fred) Stadler; JoDee (Bob) Lunawa; Kristine (Tyson) Kamikawa; and Nancy (Ross) Gaedtke; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; niece Laurel (Misch) Nass; nieces; nephews; cousins; very good friends, Janet Himmler; Gerald Hawley; and many good friends.The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Funeral Service for Evelyn will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church (370 Bowen St., Oshkosh), with Rev. Kelly Leary officiating. Interment will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park.
