Evelyn Elisabeth (Martin) Leinweber, age 83, passed away at her home with her family present early Friday, January 28, 2011.Evelyn was born on August 1, 1927, in the town of Trenton, WI to Arthur and Martha (Laubenstein) Boehlke.She married to Maynhard Happy Martin on June 22, 1947, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Newburg, WI. Soon after marriage, they moved to Oshkosh, WI where they worked side by side to build their successful business M.W. Martin House Raising & Moving, Inc. Evelyn was preceded in death in 1978 by Maynhard. In 1983, Evelyn married Elmer Leinweber. He preceded her in death in 1998.Evelyn always lived her life devoted to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Wherever God needed her to be, she was content. She was strongly involved in her church and participated in Senior Choir for nearly 56 years, was past president of the Lutheran Womans Missionary Society at Grace. She was a member of Grace Forever Young, and Grace Quilters. She also worked outside of her home with Stanley Home Care Products and North Central Cleaners. She prepared nutritious and appetizing meals when she was the cook for Grace Lutheran School. Evelyn enjoyed quilting, singing, crocheting, growing her house plants and cooking. Gardening was also very special to her. When gardening in the summer one year, she said, This is what heaven must be like.Evelyn is survived by her children, Virginia (Loruama) Tawawili, Robert T. Martin, special friend Deb, Deborah (Herb) Pulver, all of Oshkosh, WI., and Peter (Kathy) Martin of Conover, WI. Her step-granddaughter Meri Tawawili, her seven grandchildren Hannah, Adam, and Ellen Martin, Matthew and Rebecca Pulver, and Dave and Stephen Wilkins; and great-grandson Brennan Pulver and her step-great-granddaughter Elena Tawawili, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Evelyn is further survived by her step-children Larry, Bill, Mark, David, Beverly, Rainey, Sandy, Karen, and their spouses along with their children and grandchildren.The Funeral Services for Evelyn Leinweber will be held Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 3:30 PM, at Grace Lutheran Church. Visitation will begin at 1:30 PM in the church located at 913 Nebraska St. Oshkosh, WI 54902. All this will be followed by a reception in the all purpose room until 7:00PM. Internment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park at a later date.In lieu of flowers, it was Evelyns wish that a memorial be established to purchase a Hearing Loop for Grace Lutheran Church.A thanks to Dr. Gremminger and her nurses and staff at the cancer center, Dr. Robert Weber, the Hospice nurse Lisa; C.N.A. Becca who cared for Evelyn with compassion, respect, and tender loving care. Special love and gratitude for David, Sharon, Sandy, Dave, and Beverly for their many years of devoted love and care for Evelyn.
