Florence Elaine Allen

Florence E. Allen, 90, of Oshkosh died on Friday, February 27, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 28, 1918 in Hilbert, WI the daughter of Otto and Etta Behnke. Florence married Clair D. Allen on June 26, 1953 in Chicago. She was a 1936 graduate of Oshkosh High School and was a telephone operator at the phone company for many years. Florence was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and was a founder and member of the Funsters. She enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren, dancing, and playing cards. She also enjoyed her many Easter vacations with her family. Survivors include her husband, Clair; two sons Dale Allen of Oshkosh, Robert (Ann) Allen of Milwaukee; four grandchildren, Danielle Allen and Dale Jr. DJ Allen both of Oshkosh, Christopher (Jen) Allen and Nathaniel (Ann) Allen both of California; two great grandchildren, Parker and Julian Allen both of California; and one sister, Fern Viall of California. Florence was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Lynn; two brothers, Russ and Ralph Behnke; and one sister, Lillian Zellmer.The funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 4:00 PM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Eastside) with Rev. Thomas Willadsen officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Inurnment will be at Lake View Memorial Park.
