Frances Ann Wagner Weber died June 7, 2014 at her home after a short illness. She was born in Sheboygan, WI on October 10, 1935 to Dr. Raymond Francis and Elsie Mildred Steidl Wagner. She moved to Oshkosh as an infant. Fran graduated from St. Vincent de Paul Grade School and was one of six co-valedictorians of the Oshkosh High School class of 1953. In 1957 she graduated from the College of St. Teresa, Winona, MN with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She took her clinical experience at St. Mary Hospital in Rochester, MN.On December 27, 1958 she married William George Weber in St. Vincent de Paul Church. She and Bill met in kindergarten and started dating in 8th grade. She worked briefly at Milwaukee County Hospital until they started their family. With her husband in the army after graduating from medical school, they lived in Youngstown, OH; Nuremberg, Germany; Denver, CO; Lorton, VA and Fort Belvoir, VA. When Bill was transferred to Vietnam in 1968, the family settled permanently in Oshkosh.An active member of the former St. Mary Parish, Fran served on the Parish Council of Catholic Women, Board of Education, Parish Council, Finance Council and Environment Committee. She was a sacristan, lector, extraordinary minister of the Eucharist, and a member of the Worship Committee and Choir at St. Mary's and later Most Blessed Sacrament Church. She belonged to the American Medical Association Alliance, Wisconsin State Medical Society Alliance and Winnebago County Medical Society Alliance of which she was a past president. Fran volunteered with the American Red Cross Blood Bank and at Mercy Medical Center Children's Screening Services. Her passion was in pro-life activities. She was a board member of Oshkosh Pregnancy Lifeline and a member of Wisconsin Right to Life and Veritas Society. In her free time she enjoyed reading, needlework, crossword puzzles, and playing bridge with her friends of over 40 years. Fran is survived by her husband of 55 years, William; son Dr. Robert R. Weber, his wife Lisa and children Matthew, Rachel and Sara; daughters Dr. Ann E. Weber and children David, Daniel and Timothy Chapman; Dr. Maria T. Weber, her husband Dr. Gerald Lang and children Laura, Eric, Peter and Andrew Lang; Kathleen F. Sternat and her husband Bruce; son William G. Weber, Jr. and partner Phillip Koski; and daughter Elizabeth Wagner Weber Disper, her husband Dirk and children Eleanor and Emily Frances; her sister Mary T. Prindiville (Dale) and brother Dr. John R. Wagner (Beverly); brothers-in-law Dr. Robert E. Weber (Nancy) and Thomas L. Weber (Joan); dear German friend Heidi Maerz; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, her parents-in-law Robert G. Weber and Leone Weber Peirce, her sisters-in-law Mary and Judith Weber, her nephew Thomas Weber, and dear German friend Rolf Maerz. Visitation will be Sunday, June 15th from 5 to 8 PM at Konrad Behlman Funeral Home, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., and again on Monday, June 16th from 9 to 11 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, St. Mary site followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frans name to Bella Medical Clinic or The Christine Ann Center would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank everyone who was involved with Frans care and all those who prayed for her during her illness.
