Frank Orrin Strauss

Frank O. Bud Strauss, 87, of Oshkosh, died on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Park View Health Center. He was born on August 7, 1925 in Oshkosh the son of Frank and Edna Hopkins Strauss. Bud married Ivadell Butler on May 25, 1951 in Oshkosh.Bud was a long time member of First United Methodist Church and worked at the Oshkosh Northwestern as a printer for 43 years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing and was a life member of the Lakeshore Club. He was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran.Survivors include his wife, Ivadell; sons, Donald Frank (Julie) Strauss of Union, IL, Timothy Scott Strauss of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Erin J. (Jared) Diskin of Belvidere, IL, Ashley N. Strauss of Union, IL, and Alissa R. (Jeff) Block of Harvard, IL; great grandchildren, Bradan A. Diskin, Maison L. Diskin, Skyler R. Block, and Austyn R. Block; sister, Ruth Borgman of Oshkosh; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, June Abraham.The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church (700 W. Linwood Ave) with the Rev. John Hobbins officiating. Family and friends are welcome to visit at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Memorials to First United Methodist Church or Park View Health Center would be appreciated.The Strauss family would like to thank the staff and the residence at Park View Health Center especially Park Side South nursing staff for the friendship and wonderful care he received during his illness.
