Frederick Jacob Stieben

Frederick J. Stieben, 94, Oshkosh, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Evergreen Health Center. Fritz was born August 1, 1921, in Oshkosh, the son of Emil and Amalie (Mill) Stieben. Fritz married Leatrice Lee Wille September 6, 1947, in Oshkosh, and she preceded him in death January 3, 2016. Fritz was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Oshkosh. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening, and was an avid golfer until the very last years of his life. Fritz served our country in the U.S. Army.Fritz is survived by his sisters: Bertha Foster, Martha (Gordon) Tellock, Dorothy (Ron) Gartman, and June (Lawrence) Lowther; a brother, Edwin Stieben; a sister-in-law, Eveline Stieben; nieces and nephews.In addition to his wife Lee, Fritz was also preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Emma Stieben; brothers: Emil Jr. and Alex Stieben; a brother-in-law, Jim Foster.Funeral services will be privately held for Fritz. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Oshkosh. A memorial has been established.The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff of Evergreen Health Center, for their kind and compassionate care.
