Frederick John Gerlach

Fred J. Gerlach, age 72, of Oshkosh, WI. died unexpectedly on Monday Oct. 29 2007 at Mercy Medical Center. Fred worked for 12 years as assistant superintendent at Westhaven Golf Course. Prior to that Fred was the superintendent at Utica Golf Course and drove truck at Schneider Tank Lines for 30 years. Fred enjoyed golfing, traveling, fishing, watching the grandchildrens sports, going out for dinner, meeting people and of course his naps. Fred was a kind, caring, and loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend. Fred is survived by his wife Jean Gerlach of Oshkosh, his son Rocky Gerlach of Oshkosh, daughter Vicky (Jim ) Hielsberg of Oshkosh, grandchildren Jamie, Tanner, Josie, Ian, and Elyce. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters: Terry ( Pauline ) Gerlach of Dracutt, Mass., Julienne ( Hank ) Peterson of Marquette, Mi., Rick ( Jackie ) Gerlach of Oshkosh, WI., Quent ( Mary Ellen ) of Oshkosh, WI., Candy ( Jim ) Dobson of Cerro Gordo, IL., Doug Gerlach of Menasha, WI. Nieces and nephews: Mark, Carrie, Bob, Charlene, Cindy, Terry, Dave, Sharon, Shiela, Mike, and Tammy.Fred will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home ? Westside with the Fr. Carl Schmitt officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to the service time. Interment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
