Frieda Pauline Hoppe

Frieda Hoppe, of Oshkosh, passed away on July 15, 2013. She was born on July 9, 1911 in Gillett, Wisconsin the daughter of Fred and Elisabeth Winkler. She married Earle Hoppe on October 14, 1933. He preceded her in death in 1996.Frieda graduated from the Oshkosh Business College. She worked at Wisconsin Public Service until she marred Earle. Years later she worked at Read School and Lincoln School as a school secretary.She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church for over 75 years where she belonged to Martha Circle and the Quilters until her eyesight failed. She was a former member and officer of the Oriental Chapter of the Eastern Star, the White Shrine of Jerusalem, and the Social Order of Beauceants for over 50 years. She also belonged to the Twentieth Century Club. She enjoyed being a Campfire Leader where she received the Campfire Leaders award.She is survived by three grandchildren CJ Romberger of Austin TX., Brian(Amanda) Treptow of New Berlin, and Rev. Earle(Jeanee) Treptow of Denver, CO., eight great-granchildren. Special thanks to wonderful neighbors John, Loretta and Teri Bellin, special extended family, Howard and Joyce Hoppe. Very dear friends Flo and David Riese, nieces, nephews cousins, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter Danette, and her brother Alfred Winkler.Funeral services for Frieda will be held on Saturday July 20, 2013 at 11 a.m .at St. John Lutheran Church( 808 N. Main St.) with Rev. Jennifer Czarnota officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Leader Dog 1039 S. Rochester Rd., Rochester Hills, MI. 48307; or Therapy Dogs Inc., P.O. Box 20227 Cheyenne, Wyoming 82003 in memory of Frieda.
