Gary Kruger

On May 3, 2012, Gary Kruger, age 63, passed away unexpectedly at his home. Husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he will be missed by all whose life he touched. Gary was born August 12, 1948, in Milwaukee. He graduated Oshkosh High School in 1967. He volunteered for active duty in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard submarines stationed in Hawaii. Upon his honorable discharge in 1971, he returned to Oshkosh. While working at the Pioneer Inn, Gary married Mary Schultz in 1972, they had four children. Gary also held jobs at the Holiday Inn and Wisconsin Porcelain, in the Madison area. Gary returned to school and earned his Bachelor of Science degree at UW-O in 1986. He was employed by the state of Wisconsin at CTC as a Training Officer and the Wisconsin Resource Center as a PCT 2. He retired in 2005. Gary and Kim were married in June 1999 and resided in Oshkosh. Gary enjoyed family and friends, his birds, motorcycles, the Packers, college football, his riding lawnmower, water balloon fights, model railroads, and finding the holy grail of water pumps. He is survived by his wife, Kim; children, Jon (Tina) Kruger, Noel (Fred) Stephany, Robert (Rikki) Kruger, and Jennifer (Justin) Kruger; grandchildren, David, Brandon, Lexi, Natalie, Owen, Bella, and Jocelyn; great-grandchild, Arwyn; brother, John Kruger; mother-in-law, Marilyn McCormick; brother-in-law, Scott Rothe; and a nephew Alexander Rothe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and June Kruger. A memorial service for Gary will be held Friday, May 11, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, military honors will follow. Visitation will be held Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the service. Special thanks to Hans and Sylvia Lenski, Rick and Nancy Rosenau, and Dave and Patty Bohnert, for their friendship thru the years.
