George H. Williams

George Harley Williams passed away December 22 at the age of 95. He was born at home, February 12, 1919, the son of Forrest and Leona Williams.George was a farmer all his life. He took pride in working with and taking care of his herd of registered Holsteins. He was a past president of the Winnebago County Holstein Association. He enjoyed working with youth and was a former 4-H leader, principally, with dairy cattle with Poygan Go-Getters.George loved the Lord. In his younger years he had been a Sunday school superintendant for several years, sang in the church choir and later served on the board of trustees. George loved sports, leaning toward Chicago teams, The Bears, The Bulls and his favorite, The Cubs-being a die-hard fan since 1953.George was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Rhoda Williams; and one sister, Mary Loper. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn; one son, John Williams of Mt. Calvary; one brother, Forrest Williams of Janesville; one sister, Myrtle Morris of Neenah; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Rachel, Daniel and Grace, along with one great-grandchild, Henry Roberts all of North Fond du Lac.Funeral Services for George will be at 11:00 am on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Wyldewood Baptist Church, 3030 Witzel Ave., Oshkosh. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 until time of service. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park.
