Gerald E. Schultz, 74 of Washington, IL formerly of Oshkosh passed away at 8:32 am Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family.Jerry was born on March 12, 1938 in Harvey, IL to Ernest and Ellen Montgomery Schultz. He married Burdean Berndt in Oshkosh on September 5, 1959. She passed away on February 18, 2009 in Oshkosh. Later he married Rebecca Miller Page in Washington, IL on April 23, 2010. Becky survives.Also surviving is one son, Philip (Julie) Schultz of Oshkosh; two daughters, Cynthia (Clark) Goodearle of Ontario, NY and Rebecca (Ken) Grahl of Fond du lac; two step children, Tammy (Barry) Parrott and Tom (Dawn Ekvall, friend) Page, both of Washington; two brothers, Dave (Judy) Schultz of Lincoln, CA and Philip (Sandy) Bos of West Memphis, AR; ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.Jerry retired from James River in Neenah where he had worked as a lab technician; he later worked at manufacturing custom inlaid floor medallions for Historic Floors of Oshkosh. He had attended Wartburg College in Iowa and also Northern Illinois University.He enjoyed woodworking and building planes in his basement and was also active in the Washington RC Flyers Club and the Winnebago County RC Flyers. Jerry also enjoyed reading about World War II, taking walks and riding bikes with the family.Jerry will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather treasuring the time he could spend with his family. He loved the Lord, and attended with Becky, Second Chance Church in Peoria on Sundays. Prior to moving to Illinois, he attended the Countryside Community Church in Oshkosh.A service to celebrate Jerrys life will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside at 7:00 pm with Pastor Paul Pfeffer officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 pm to the time of service. At Jerrys request cremation has taken place and his cremains placed alongside Burdeans. Memorials for Jerry made be made to the missionarys supported by the Grace Christian Church of Fond du Lac.
