Gerald R. Raddatz

Gerald Jerry R. Raddatz, age 76, of Oshkosh passed away on May 10, 2016 at Aurora Medical Center. He was born to Reuben and Florence Jones Raddatz on October 18, 1939 in Oshkosh.As a youth Jerry worked on his family farm. He spent many years hanging with his cousins who all became lifelong friends. Jerry graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1957. In 1959 he joined the United States Army 32nd Division, Combat Support, 127 Infantry. He served his county from 1959-1965. While serving he met Judith Winters. They were married on September 14, 1963 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church. In 1966 Jerry started his career as a Machinist at Rockwell International for the next 30 years until retiring in 1996. Jerry was a proud Member of the Union Local 291. He also served as Rockwell election committee chairman for 20 years.In 1967 Jerry and Judy became proud parents of their first son Steven, soon after in 1968 they were expecting their second son Randy, and in 1977 their third son, Timothy was born. Through the years the boys became involved in soccer so Jerry became coach and board member, through many years of coaching Jerry made many friendships. The family had wonderful family vacations where memories were made and cherished to this day. As the children grew up Jerry and Judy enjoyed travels of their own to Mexico, Florida, and one of Jerrys favorites, Las Vegas, as well as many bus trips. Jerry was a big Packer fan and loved Sundays to watch football. He also enjoyed tinkering in his work shop where he enjoyed making yard decorations among other items. Jerry was blessed with six grandchildren whom he loved and adored.He was a current member of Living Water Lutheran Church.He is survived by his son, Randy and daughter-in-law, Dawn(Dushenski) and their three daughters Emily Gabrielle, and Elizabeth Raddatz all of Oshkosh; son, Tim and daughter-in-law, Karlyn(Wolfinger) and their two sons Parker and Brennan Raddatz all of Appleton; his daughter-in-law, Gina(Lewis) (Steve d: 2009) Raddatz of Oshkosh and her son Austin of Michigan; one sister, Diane (Robert) LaPoint of Watertown, Wisconsin; two nieces, Wendy(Dan) Koch and Anne(Jim) Klug all of the Madison area; and his special friend, Donna Walters.He was preceded in death by his loving wife, his parents Reuben and Florence Raddatz, his son Steve, and parents-in-law, Gordon and Lucille Winters.Funeral services for Jerry will be held on Sunday May 15, 2016 at 4 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside with Rev. John Dorn officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Full Military honors will be held immediately following the service. Inurnment will be at Lake View Memorial Park.The Raddatz family would like to thank Eden Meadows, Dr. Wilson, Dr. Wallace, Dr. Lake and the staff at Aurora Dialysis Center.
