Gertrude Martha Mittelstaedt

Gertrude Trude Mittelstaedt, 89, of Oshkosh died on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center. Trude was born on February 6, 1919 in Mauston, WI the daughter of William and Irma Hauer Lutz. She married Rev. Theodore Mittelstaedt on June 22, 1942 in Escanaba, MI. Theodore preceded her in death on February 1, 1963.Mrs. Mittelstaedt was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a home maker and had taught at St. Peters Lutheran School in Fond du Lac.Survivors include her children, Rev. John (Crystal) Mittelstaedt of Upper Marlboro, MD, Elizabeth Mittelstaedt of Oshkosh, Lois Mittelstaedt of Upper Marlboro, MD, Joel Mittelstaedt of Baraboo, Paul (Nancy) Mittelstaedt of De Pere, Dr. Anne (Dr. Walter) Koroshetz of Potomac, MD, Philip (Ann) Mittelstaedt of Omro, Matthew (Jody) Mittelstaedt and Luke (Kim) Mittelstaedt of Oshkosh. Trude was also survived by one sister, Loretta Matthews of Wisconsin Rapids, eighteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mrs. Mittelstaedt was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, Mark Mittelstaedt, one sister, Helen Lutz and one brother, Martin Lutz.The funeral service will be on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 338 N. Eagle St, Oshkosh with the Rev. David Pagel officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Immanuel Lutheran Church.Special thanks to caregivers Maribeth, Maggie, Becky, and Judy and to the staffs at Park View Health Center and Mercy Medical Center for their compassionate care.
