Harold A Schrader

Harold A. Schrader, 96, of Oshkosh, died Thursday February 19, 2009 at Bethel Home. He was born on August 27, 1912 in Sheboygan the son of Herbert and Clara Koppen. After the death of his parents he was adopted by Fred and Magdalena Schrader. On December 23, 1947 he married Enid Krause in Oshkosh.Harold was a veteran of the United States Army during WWII. He served in many places including Guadalcanal, Philippines, Fiji Islands, Japan and Bouganville. He was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church and loved fishing and doing the crossword puzzles in the newspaper.He is survived by his wife, Enid, one son Hal Schrader, one daughter Gayle Schrader, one granddaughter April Westphal, one sister Dorothy Harrand all of Oshkosh and nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his birth parents, his adopted parents and one sister Lorraine.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 24, 2009 at 6 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside with Rev. Chadwick Graham officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial has been established.The family would like to thank the Neurosurgery Department at UW-Hospital, Vicki and Victor Schmidt and Gene and Sally Schroeder.
