Helen E. Hanisch died peacefully at Evergreen on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the age of 90 years. She was born on August 10, 1923 at a farm home near the village of Medina, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Vemon and Loraine (Winckler) Raprager. She graduated from Appleton West High School in 1941 and attended Oshkosh Business College for one year. For four years she worked for Bouck, Hilton, & Dempsey law firm. She also worked for one year in the Winnebago County Municipal Court. She married Harry J. Hanisch of Oshkosh on September 6, 1947, at the Medina Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1994.Helen was employed at the Staub Abstract Company for 20 years. From August 1969 to her retirement in 1979, she worked for her husband in the Hanisch Insurance Agency, at which time the agency was sold. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Twentieth Century Club, and enjoyed playing bridge in tournaments and social groups. Helen also enjoyed golfing, shooting skeet and trap, and duck hunting with her husband. Harry. Helen volunteered for many years at EAA.Survivors include one son. Dr. Robert J. Hanisch, daughter-in-law Dr. Susan G. Neff, and granddaughter Emma Katherine Neff-Hanisch, of Glenn Dale, Maryland. Zonnie J. Fritsche, Sr., Helen's honorary "adopted son" and his wife Shirley (Sanunie) McQuillan of Neshkoro are dear, caring, and beloved friends. Two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law prceded her: Joan and Robert Scovronski (Neenah) and Thelma and Stanley Drews (Neshkoro).Helen was a resident of the Evergreen Retirement Community since January 2007, andprior to that resided at 1002 Grove St., Oshkosh, since 1954.A memorial service will be held in the Evergreen chapel for family and friends at a later date.In lieu of flowers, Helen has requested that donations go to the Evergreen RetirementCommunity, 1130 N. Westfield St., Oshkosh, WI 54902.Helen's family and friends thank the staff at Evergreen for the care and compassion they have shown for her these past years.
