Hilda Lila Novotny

Hilda L. Novotny, age 99, of Preston Place-Redgranite died peacefully at Berlin Memorial Hospital on Monday January 14, 2008. Hilda was born August 11, 1908 in the Town of Poygan to the late Rhine and Minnie Rates. She married Frank Novotny on May 17, 1933. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1993. Hilda and Frank were farmers, first in the Town of Poygan and then moving to Oshkosh in 1946, where they farmed until retirement. After Franks death Hilda moved to Omro and then Preston Place-Redgranite, where she resided until her time of death. Her favorite pass time was crocheting. Hilda is survived by three daughters Marcella Hale of Oshkosh, Barbara (Joe) Sobieski of Berlin, and Kathleen Rodencal (special friend Eldon Kemnitz) of Berlin; eight grandchildren Brian (Julaine) Hale, Diane (Jim Berini) Hale, Karen Winkel, Michael (Laura) Sobieski, Andrew (Patty) Sobieski, Karla Jean (Scott) Loveland, Joyce (David) Labuda, and Susan (Brian) Krueger; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister Adeline Carpenter, her husband, and parents. Funeral services for Hilda will be held Friday January 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, Rev. Steve Kaehr officiating. Family and friends may call at the Lake Pointe Dr. funeral home on Friday from 10 AM until the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
