Irene Hazel Holm passed away on June 16, 2008 at Evergreen Retirement Community. She was born in Iola, WI the daughter of Ludwig and Hazel Lund Lewiston. Irene attended Oshkosh Business College and the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh. She retired after working as Office Manager at the Winnebago County Hospital and later in the offices of Reeve Memorial Union and the Polk Library of the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh.She was a member of First English Lutheran Church. She had been a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Handbell Choir, a member of the Women of FELC (having served as president and secretary), two term Church Council member, and a lector. She loved poetry and wrote many poems.Irene is survived by two sons, Thomas (Lynn) Holm of Berlin, WI, and William Holm of Oshkosh; a daughter, Jane Holm of Oshkosh; six grandchildren: Lisa, Bradley, Shawn, Heather, Derek, and Ryan; eight great grandchildren, Amanda, Chelsey, Cody, Rayne, Chayse, Treyson, Libby, and Jocelyn. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Allan Holm; a sister, Marita; and a brother; Harland.Her funeral will be Friday June 20, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside with Rev. Tim Greenwald officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM until the time of the service. Memorial has been established to the First English Lutheran Church Handbell Fund.
