Jacqueline Jo Boese

June 26, 1942 — August 27, 2022

After a ten-year battle with multiple myeloma, Jacqueline Jo Boese, age 80 of Oshkosh, was freed from pain and found peace on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Evergreen Retirement Community. She was born in Oshkosh on June 26, 1942 to the late Elmo and Leone (Wilson) Hensel. Jacqueline married Robert L. Boese May 6, 1961, and together raised two children.

She worked at various places throughout life including, Oshkosh B’gosh, Menasha Corporation, for the U.S. Postal Service, and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh bookstore.

Everyone who knew Jacqueline, knew she had a zest for life and was a night owl. In her earlier years, she was an avid golfer and bowler, she also loved roller blading and tap dancing with Pastor Martin Rouge. Jackie enjoyed playing cards, especially 9-hole golf. Later in life, she and Bob made Panama City Beach, Florida their second home to escape the Wisconsin winters. After wintering in Florida, Jackie enjoyed summers by her pool where she could enjoy her gardens full of hostas that she loved to collect. Jackie had a love for glitz, glam and shopping, she always loved hunting for a good bargain at Beall’s, Dillards and everywhere else. Jackie was a faithful and involved member of Christ Lutheran Church (now Christ-Our Savior’s) and served as altar guild and participated in many bake sales for the church.

Jacqueline is survived by her children, Robert (Brandy) Boese Jr. and Wendy (Aron) McLeod; grandchildren: Peggy (Josiah) Gardner, Mark (Allison) Boese, Brian (Lorren) Boese, and their mother Linda; Brad Spanbauer, and Kyle (Noelle) Spanbauer; 14 great grandchildren; and her sisters: Joan Kuhn and Jane Koeffler; and her brothers and sisters-in-law: Marvin (Darlene) Boese, Pam (Mark) Juedes, Greg (Ann) Boese, and Laura Boese, Julie Boese, Joan Boese, Julie Boese, Betty Boese, and Val Juedes. Jackie is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, and friends near and far.

In addition to her parents and her parents-in-law and husband, Jacqueline was preceded in death by her son-in-law: Robert Spanbauer; brother: Gerald (Germaine) Hensel; sister: Janice (Freddie) St.Dennis; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bob Kuhn, Rex Koeffler, Dick Boese, Roger Boese, Royal (Linda) Boese, Norman Boese Jr., Helen Juedes, Andy Boese, Clifford Boese and Bradley Boese. She is also preceded in death by her best friends, Rich and MaryJane Palmquist. 

A memorial service will be held at Christ-Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1860 Wisconsin St. Oshkosh, WI 54901 on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Connie Weiss officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until Noon.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

Jacqueline’s family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen Retirement Community, especially Kim and Angela, for the exceptional care provided to her throughout the last month.
