James M Rutz

James M. Rutz, age 61, of Oshkosh, died Monday April 16, 2012 at Aurora Medical Center. He was born on August 23, 1950 in Oshkosh a son of Milton and Hertha Kohls Rutz. On October 24, 1970 he married Kathleen Noe in Oshkosh.Jim was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He was involved with Oshkosh Youth Baseball for over 20 years, serving as the President and coaching teams for many years where he took pride in mentoring the youth. He was an avid runner and had completed five marathons. He loved the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. Anyone who knew Jim realized he was a people person and had a gift for leading and teaching young men.He is survived by his wife Kathy; one son, Nate (Shannon) Rutz of LaCrosse; his grandsons, Jason Little Buddy, Michael Little Pal and his namesake, Andrew James Lil Guy; his brother, Richard (Cindy) Rutz of Oshkosh; two sisters-in-law, Sue (Chuck) Blatz of Oshkosh, Karen Beck of Kaukauna; five nieces, Amy Rutz and family of California, Sarah (Steve) DeRoche and family of Appleton, Dana (Gus) Hill and family of Milwaukee, Carrie (Kevin) Kuklinski and family of Oshkosh, Robyn (Fiance Marty Fournier) Kargus and her family of Oshkosh and a cousin Ted (Susan) Otto and family of Grafton. He was preceded in death by his parents and an aunt, Lauretta Otto.A memorial service for Jim will be held on Saturday April 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (2450 W. 9th Ave.) with Rev. Roger Erdman officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.A memorial has been established.The family would like thank the ICU staff and Dr. Joan Garvey at Aurora Medical Center for their compassionate care.
