James Robert Tigert

November 24, 1942 — March 26, 2012

James R. Tigert, of Oshkosh, died Monday March 26, 2012 at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born November 24, 1942 in Oshkosh a son of the late Robert and Amber (Glasenapp) Tigert. Jim married Margaret Bradley on October 12, 1963. Jim served with the Wisconsin National Guard 127 Infantry Division and was called to active duty in 1961, serving in Ft. Lewis Washington during the Berlin Crisis. Jim served on the Town of Nekimi town board, as a supervisor, as well as a volunteer firefighter. He was a life member of First English Lutheran Church. In addition to a lifetime of farming, which was his passion, his employment included construction and owning and operating his own trucking company, Tigert Trucking, all while working fulltime at Rockwell International where he eventually retired after 30 years. Jim was very proud of his children and grandchildren (Bethany, Sambo, Bud, The Rach, Ams, Squeaks, Brads, Peanut, Clairney, Nooker). He especially enjoyed our designated days at the farm Pumpkinfest & Snow Day, where many wonderful memories were made. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Margaret, his four children Robert(Kelly) Tigert, James Jr.(Diane) Tigert, Karen(Patrick) Fredrick, and William Tigert, ten grandchildren Elizabeth(Ben) Trehey, Samantha Tigert, Jared Tigert, Rachel Tigert, Amber Tigert, Sydney Fredrick, Brady Fredrick, Ella Tigert, Claire Tigert, and Rowan Tigert, one brother Gale(Lora) Tigert, aunts Lillian and Wolga Tigert, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ronald(Ruth) Bradley, Richard(Deanna) Bradley, Edgar(Mary) Bradley, Kenneth(Jane) Bradley, Dan(Lila) Jerabek, John(Nancy) Lieske, and many nieces, nephews, and his special friends, Roger Dehn and Gerald Raddatz. He was preceded in death by an infant son James Mark, his parents, his father-in-law Edgar Bradley, mother-in-law Isabelle Bradley, uncles Richard Tigert, Arthur Tigert, Wilbert Glasenapp, and sister-in-law Sharon Bradley. Funeral services for Jim will be held on Thursday March 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at First English Lutheran Church, Revs. Tim Greenwald and Martin Ruge officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday March 28, 2012 at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside from 2-7 p.m. and again Thursday at the church from 9 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Ellenwood Cemetery. Jims family wishes to thank Pastor Tim and Pastor Marty for their care and concern during Jims illness as well as Aurora ICU and 2nd floor nurses and doctors, Aurora VNA and hospice. A special thank you goes to Dr. Carlson and Dr. Wilson for their long term and dedicated care
