Jeanette Ream Tews

Jeannette Starr Tews, 101, of Oshkosh, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016. She was born on January 22, 1915 to the late Glenn and Laura (Ream) Starr. Jeanette married her late husband, Lawrence Tews on June 21, 1933 and their marriage was blessed with four children. Jeannette was a homemaker after graduating from Oshkosh High School. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and investing. She also had a love of animals and for traveling; including Europe and all 50 states.Jeannette is survived by her sons: Dr. Leonard, Roger and Glenn Tews; a daughter: Beverly Sowle, grandchildren: Brad Tews, Teresa Morales, Matthew Tews, Heather Burns, Charles Tews, Edith Goes, Tenno Sowle and Ryan Derflinger; great grandchildren: Devin Tews, Amanda Fuelle, Kelby Tews, Landon Tews, Mackenzie Tews, Kain Walsh, Emmett Goes, Ty Sowle, Tara Sowle, Brittney Berryman, Olivia Hurlbert, Joshua Martin and Jared Martin. She is further survived by great great grandsons: Charles and Jack Berryman. Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; son-in-law: Art Sowle; a brother: Donald Starr; two grandsons: Todd and Torin Sowle.A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Peace Lutheran Church with Vicar Dora Clifford officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Nepeuskun Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
