Joann R. Neyhard, 79, of Oshkosh died Sunday, June 16, 2013, surrounded by her family, after a brief stay at Eden Meadows. She was born May 14, 1934 in Birnamwood, WI a daughter of the late Otto and Isabel (Meverden) Kortbein. She married Ken Neyhard on Oct. 6, 1951 in the Sacred Heart Parsonage, Oshkosh.Joann was a member of St. Jude Parish where she was very active in her younger years. She loved gardening, cooking and baking.Joann is survived by her husband, Ken of Oshkosh; a daughter, Marsha (Bill) Stephan of DePere; a son Ken Jr. (Kathy) Neyhard of Greenville; two grandchildren, Jack (Kelly) Stephan of Green Bay and Suzanne (Paul) DeLeeuw of DePere; two step-grandchildren, Karissa (Cory) Goldschmidt of Sherwood and Brett Klotzbuecher of Iola; a great-granddaughter, Helena DeLeeuw, who called Joann Pumpkin Bread Grandma, of DePere; two step-great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Jurnie Klotzbuecher of Iola; a sister, Gail Moon of Oshkosh; two brothers, Gary (Chris) Matsche and Thomas (Gale) Matsche both of Oshkosh; two sisters-in-law, Angie Matsche and Darlene Kortbein both of Oshkosh; two brothers-in-law, Walter Kallin of Neenah and Ralph (Esther) Neyhard of Oshkosh; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, June Kallin; and three brothers, Ray Kortbein, Jim Kortbein, and Wayne Matsche.A funeral service for Joann will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, Rev. Bill Van De Kreeke officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial is being established to the American Cancer Society and Affinity VNA Hospice.Joanns family would like to thank the staff at Eden Meadows for their love and concern during her stay there; for the compassionate care given from the staff of Affinity VNA Hospice; to Joanns neighbors, especially Betty and Susie, and all her special friends for their help, love, and support; and to Dr. Thomas Klinkhammer and the staff at the Cancer Center at Mercy Medical Center for the special care they gave Joann.
