John A. Deschaine

February 22, 1949 — May 3, 2022

John Allen Deschaine, 73, passed away on May 3, 2022, with family by his side. He was born in Marinette, Wisconsin to Raymond and Mildred (Jorgensen) Deschaine.

After graduation, John served in the Navy as a petty officer, third class with the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge, John worked for the City of Oshkosh for 30 years.

A self-proclaimed jokester, John found joy in teasing and pranking his loved ones. Lovingly referred to as ‘Johnny Boy’, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Anyone who knew John, knew he would go to any length to help someone in need and always looked forward to cracking a cold one! John had a special place in his heart for their dog, Holiday (aka the ‘Bearded Lady’) and could be found most days napping in his chair with Holiday on his lap.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Wagner) Deschaine; sister, Betty (Ed) Rollo; and children, Mike (Erin) Deschaine, Corey (Paige) Deschaine, Melissa (Daniel) Browning, and Courtney (Samantha) Wagner. He is the grandfather to Sadie Deschaine, Prophecy and Charlie Browning, Alex, Lillian, and Logan Deschaine, Mikayla and Peyton Erickson. John is further survived by many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James R. Deschaine; stepson, Cory J. Wagner; grandson, Parker F. Deschaine; and nephew, Joshua Deschaine.

To our loving Father, Grandfather and Husband - you are now at peace, but you will forever live on in our hearts. We love you so much.
