John Charles Shelp

John C. Shelp, 89, of Oshkosh, formerly of Janesville, died on Thursday, June 6, 2013. He was born on November 9, 1923 in Oshkosh the son of Leon and Louise Hellwig Shelp. On June 1, 1950 he married Dona Letts in Des Moines, Iowa. John was a member of Algoma Boulevard United Methodist Church and a U. S. Army veteran. He was a Methods Engineer for General Motors in Janesville for 35 years. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and spending time with his family at the cottage on Lake Butte des Morts.Survivors include his wife, Dona; daughter, Deborah (John) Anderson of Oshkosh; sons, Phil (Karen) Shelp of Discovery Bay, CA, Gary Shelp of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren, Lindsey, Ryan, Cory and Kyle Shelp, Emily (Greg) Collins, Kristin, James and Justin Anderson; and great grandchildren, Hope and Ellie Collins. John was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Linda Shelp.A funeral service will be at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside) on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Omro Cemetery.
