John Frederick Bangs Sr.

John F. Bangs Sr., 87, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Lakeshore Manor. He was born April 7, 1929, in Oshkosh a son of Frederick L. and Amanda Bangs. He married Doloros Busse on July 25, 1951, in Fort Lee, VA and she preceded him in death on Aug. 8, 2000.John graduated from the Northwest Military Academy and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was vice-president of E. P. Bangs Trucking and operated the G. I. Company. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and was a state licensed hunting guide.John is survived by daughters, Cindy Meinen of Oshkosh and Doloros "Dede" Bangs of Madison; a son, John Bangs Jr. of Oshkosh; three grandchildren, Gary Meinen Jr., Jerrod (Jessie) Meinen and Shelly (Aaron) Gudden; and three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Madelyn, and Alexys. He was preceded in death by his parents.Private services will be held. His family wishes to thank the staff of Generations Hospice, especially Jessie, for all their help and care.Johns favorite saying I spent most of my life hunting & drinking BEER. The rest of the time I WASTED.
