John H. Schultz Jr., of Oshkosh, died Saturday August 5, 2006 at the Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Oshkosh on February 8, 1939 the son of John H. and Elda Spiering Schultz Sr. On September 23, 1961 he married his best friend, Gertrude Raube in Oshkosh. John had been an employee of the Wisconsin Public Service Corporation for thirty seven and one half years.He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh and had served on the Evangelism Committee. John was the co-executive director of the Miss Wisconsin Organization, and was a former board member of the Wisconsin Public Service Credit Union. He enjoyed golfing with friends on courses all over Wisconsin and was a member of the Lake Shore Golf Course in Oshkosh. He was a Green Bay Packer Fan and enjoyed going to the football games of both Oshkosh High Schools (he rarely missed one). John especially enjoyed waterfowl hunting with his brother/in/law, Ray Raube.John is survived by his wife, Gertrude Schultz of Oshkosh, his mother, Elda Schultz of Oshkosh, two brothers/in/law, Dennis (Louise) Raube of Lindenhurst, IL, and Raymond Raube (friend, Vicky Buttke and her son, Ryan) of Oshkosh, two nephews, Eric and David Raube of Belgrade, MT, three Goddaugthers, Amy Harmsen of Fond du Lac, Bernie Skupus of Rosendale, and Erin Mott of San Louis Obispo, CA, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Schultz Sr. and by his mother and father in law, Edwin and Bernice Raube.His funeral service will be Wednesday August 9, 2006 at Noon at the First English Lutheran Church with the Rev. Timothy Gruenwald officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 AM until the time of the service. Memorials have been established. The family wishes to express their thanks to the Miss Wisconsin Organization Board members, and to the Miss Wisconsin local pageants, with special thanks going to Co executive director, Sue Captain and her husband Brother Lou, to Gordy Lund, Bill Gerth, Nancy Gagnow, Debbie Hoeft, Vicky Buttke, Jan Gauger, Michael and Jeanne Schmal; Pastors Tim Greenwald, Nancy Krueger, and Chuck Fluegel, and to Chaplain Michael, Rose Goyke, the staff of the Mercy Medical Center, Drs. Al-Bitar, and Beckett, the nurses of the 1st floor Intensive Care Unit Sub acute, and the Affinity Hospice, Patsy and Astra, the pallbearers and to the many friends who sent cards and made calls and visits. We will always remember them in our prayers. God Bless You.
