John Owen Koehn

John Owen Koehn, 84, of Oshkosh, also known as Mike passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Theda Clark Medical Center, with his daughters, son and daughter-in-law by his side. John was born on October 6, 1928 in Kimberly, WI.He was the son of Ann S. Koehn (Jansen) and William E. Koehn. His fondest memories of childhood were spending his summers at his grandfathers farm in Kimberly. He married Marcella F. Honey Kinderman on October 9, 1948 in Oshkosh where they resided the rest of their lives. John worked at Guernsey Dairy Company (GDC) for 15 years and then at Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. until his retirement 20 years later. He was very active in Cub Scouts and was a member of the Elks 292 club. During his retirement he was a volunteer grandpa working with students in the Oshkosh School District.Surviving are his son, Michael (Stacey) Koehn; daughters, Roxanne (David) Nelson, Debra Pease and Michele Futta; grandchildren, Mitchel, Samantha, Chad, Jenny, Kelly, Tracy, Sara, Josh and Marcy; 14 great grandchildren; and his faithful dog, Chester. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife of 49 years; sister, Carol Anthes Schroeder; and two brothers-in-law, son-in-laws, Daniel Futta and Dick Pease; and close friend, Wally Dickson.A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church (830 S. Westhaven Dr, Oshkosh) with Rev. Doug LeCaptain officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Inurnment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
