John Robert Egan

John R. Bob Egan Jr, 67, of Oshkosh, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Evergreen Retirement Community. Bob was born on December 8, 1942 in Omaha, NE a son of John and Patricia Fuchs Egan Sr. On August 19, 2000 he married Mary V. Nachreiner in Madison.Bob was a member of the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Neenah and was employed by the Department of Natural Resources as an Intelligence Analyst. He served his country in the US Army from 1963 to 1969. He loved fishing, hunting, bird watching, hiking, reading and had volunteered with his wife Mary at Evergreen Retirement Community. Bob was grateful for Alcoholics Anonymous and was a proud member for over 20 years. He was also a member of the Alzheimers Association, was instrumental in the DNR Citizens Advisory Committee in developing the master plan for the Lower States Riverway, worked with the Chippewa Youth Employment Program from 1989-1994 and worked on development of the Clean Water Fund.Survivors include his wife Mary of Neenah; his daughter, Samantha (Matt) Peckham of Arlington; his brother, Mike (Judy) Egan of Madison; his sister, Sheila (Larry) Swanlund of Hartford; nephews, Eric (Lori) Swanlund of Winneconne, Todd (Hesper) Swanlund of Neenah, Andy (Fiance, Anne Barnhill) Egan of New York; numerous other extended family and friends and his loving companion BO.Services for Bob will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home - Westside with Fr. Mike Ingold officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to the service time with military honors to follow. Memorials in Bobs name would be appreciated.
