Joseph C. Marx, 50, of Oshkosh died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, after being hit by a tree helping out a lifelong family friend. He was born January 31, 1965, in Oshkosh a son of the late Carl C. and Patricia Marx. He married Kay Meuler on April 28, 1990, in Oshkosh.Joe owned and operated Marx Mechanical after years of working there with his father. He was a member of Grace Ev. Lutheran Church and enjoyed hunting, restoring cars, Cruising in the Corvette with Kay on sunny afternoons and going to the cabin in Iola, and of course finding car parts and good bargains at the Iola and Jefferson Car Shows.Joe is survived by his wife, Kay; daughter, Ariel Marx (Corey Franzen); son, Michael Marx; four sisters, Sally Marx, Susan Zibrat Oro Valley, AZ, Sandra (John) Schaetz, and Teresa Marx; one brother, Matthew Marx. He is further survived by his father & mother In Law, Eugene and Barbara Meuler; brothers & sisters In Law, Alan & Warren (Connie) Meuler, Karen (Ronnie) Yoder all of Oshkosh; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends; and a special nephew and partner in crime, Andrew Schaetz. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon Marx.A funeral service for Joe will be held Friday, July 10, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, Rev. Chadwick Graham officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park.The family would like to thank the Utica Fire Dept., Utica, Algoma & Nekimi First Responders and the Trauma Unit at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah.
