Josephine A Schwantz

Josephine “JoeAnn” A. Schwantz, age 91, of Oshkosh, passed away on May 19, 2022, at Aurora Medical Center.  She was born on May 31, 1930, in Oshkosh a daughter of Howard and Eileen Secor Cushman.  She married John Schwantz on December 9, 1950, in Oshkosh.  He preceded her in death on December 26, 1997.

She was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church and had worked at various medical faculties including Children’s Clinic, Supportive Home Care and finally retiring from First Care Chiropractic in her 80’s.  She enjoyed painting, knitting, and baking.

She is survived her children, Gail (Patrick) Nolan, Joan (Kenneth) Weeks, Amy (John) Zimmerman; her grandchildren, Ann (Jon) Schlenske, Michelle Weeks, Adam (Micalla) Weeks, Matthew (Trisha) Nolan, Mark (Lacey) Nolan, Andrew (Amber) Zimmerman, Amanda (Joe) Priewe, Jessica Zimmerman; great-grandchildren, Blake, Paxton, Brynleigh, Emmett, Emily, Charles, Abigail, Lucas, Chloe, Quinnlynn, Joshua, and Cooper, and two great-grandbabies due later this year.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, daughter Mary, brother and sister-in-law Dale and Shirley Cushman, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marilyn and Clyde Terrell, and two nephews John and Jim Terrell.

A Funeral service will be held on Sunday May 22, 2022, at 4 p.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church with Rev. Dean Desilet officiating.  Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral at the church.  Burial will be in Ellenwood Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Bella Vista, especially Linda, Dr. Eric Duwell, and the amazing Dr’s and nurses on 2W at Aurora Hospital.

Mom, we will miss you and all the amazing talents you shared with us! Your cream puffs, lemon bars, and cookies were the best, as was your beautiful painting and knitting skills.
