Joyce Ellen Goodacre

Joyce E. Goodacre, age 77, of Oshkosh passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Northpoint Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Oshkosh. Joyce was born on August 15, 1930, in Oshkosh, to the late John and Margaret (Raatz) Elmer. She married Donald R. Goodacre on November 12, 1948 in Fond du Lac.Joyce spent most of her life working as a bartender at several taverns in Oshkosh, the last being Big Daddys. She liked to play cards and enjoyed going to BINGO with her good friend Sharon Fuhrman.Joyce is survived by her ex-husband, Donald, their children, Donald (Kathy) Goodacre, Mike Goodacre, Jeff Goodacre, Lorri (Ralph) Sawall, Tammy Witthuhn (special friend Jason Cartwright), Mark (Susan) Goodacre, Penny Richter, all of Oshkosh, Scott (Julie) Goodacre of Kaukauna; six grandchildren, Tarah Schmitz (special friend Mike Pawicz), Stacy Sawall, Logan Richter, Elizabeth, Kristin and Emily Goodacre; three great-grandchildren, Victoria, Shyanne and Sage. Joyce is further survived by three sisters, Evelyn Kulibert, Delores Donker, both of Oshkosh and Jean (Ron) Boushley of Mesa, AZ; one brother, Richard Elmer of Oshkosh; good family friends, Sharon Fuhrman and George Jones, as well as other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Harold, Alvin, Victor, Adrian and Floyd and one sister, Janet.Services for Joyce will be held on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at the Aurora Medical Center (Conference Center Rooms A & B – 855 N Westhaven Drive) with Captain Johnny Harsh of the Salvation Army officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to the service time. In lieu of flowers memorials in Joyces name would be appreciated. The family wishes to thank all the doctors and nurses at Mercy Medical Center, the Northpoint staff and Hospice caregivers for all their help and comfort given to Joyce and her family during this time of need.
