June Genz

June A. (Knight) Genz, 92, Oshkosh, died peacefully at Azura Memory Care on Thursday, May 12, 2016. June was born on April 28, 1924 in Waupaca to the late Olga Anna Bertha (Plautz) Knight and Thomas E. Knight. She graduated from Waupaca High School and later married Burton A. Genz on April 25, 1946 in Oshkosh. Burton passed away on September 11, 2005. June worked at American Optical Neenah, until her marriage, then stayed at home to raise her children and became a seamstress for many businesses as well her own clients and later she went on to manage the Mens store at Maurices at Park Plaza. June and her husband enjoyed going to auctions for many years after retirement. For two and a half years June resided at Evergreen Retirement home and the last eight and a half years at Azura Memory Care in Oshkosh.June is survived by her children: Linda (Steven) Werner and Russell (Karen) Genz, grandchildren: Terry (Tony) Werner, Christine Resop, James (Steffie) Genz, Jeffrey Genz, John Genz, great grandchildren: Hunter and Makala Resop, Haley Genz-Tovar, McKenzie and Mason Genz. As well as her brother: Sidney (Carol Jean) Knight, and sister-in-law: Mavis Genz. June is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, son: Thomas A. Genz, parents-in-law: Arthur and Flora Genz, brother Edgar Knight, sister-in-law: Evelyn Knight, nieces: Debra Martin, Cindy Demler, Margo Galica, along with many other family members.Visitation will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside (402 Waugoo Ave, Oshkosh, WI, 54901) on May 15, 2016 from 4p.m.-7p.m. with a reading at 6:30p.m. Private burial will take place.In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established for the Oshkosh Area Humane Society.The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Azura for the past eight and a half years of care they gave to June.A hearty thank you to Steve, Chris and Shirlene from Hospice Advantage of Fond du Lac for the end of life care given to June.
