Kathleen M. Mieritz

Kathleen “Kathie” M. Mieritz, age 77 of Oshkosh, passed away at her home with her husband and children at her side on Sunday, February 20, 2022. She was born in Illinois on October 19, 1944 to the late Mearl and Esther (Kuch) Broockmann. She was blessed with four children, Faith, Heidi, Sarah and Tom.

Kathie influenced many young lives throughout her life. She taught countless first and second graders throughout Milwaukee and the Fox Valley, including Fox Valley Christian Academy and Trinity Lutheran School. 

Kathie was devoted to mission work. She was assigned to work in Siberia, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Canada, and St. Thomas, as well as various states throughout the US.  It was at a mission orientation in St. Louis that she met Michael “Mike” Mieritz, with whom she would later marry, and spend the rest of her life.

Kathie is lovingly survived by Mike, her husband of 26 years; her children: Faith (Bill) Soderbeck, Heidi (Hank) Reimer, Sarah (Tom) Norris, Thomas (Jodi) Burger, 13 grandchildren: Sydney, Jesse, Lyndsey, Jayme, Henry (Andria), Grace, Noah, Addie, Sophia, Adeline, Avery, Luke, Hadley; and her siblings: Richard (Bobbi) Broockmann, and Candice Broockmann King.

A celebration of life for Kathie will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church, 400 N. Sawyer St. Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.

Kathie’s family would like to extend their deep appreciation to Jenny and Kim from Moments Hospice. Your kindness and compassion towards Kathie and her family have been a great comfort at such a difficult time.
