Kermit William Johnson

KERMIT William Johnson, age 89, of Oshkosh, died March 7, 2011. He was born July 10, 1921 at Stoughton, Wisconsin to Pedro and Mabel Johnson. He married Edith Cavey on March 15, 1947.He is survived by his wife, one son, Kenneth (Mary), four grandchildren Benjamin (Rebecca), Nathaniel (Allison), Aaron (Megan) and Carrie (Joseph) Hamstra, and seven great grandchildren, Aliana, Elizabeth, Samuel, Lily, Greta, Austin and Liam. Kermit had a twin brother, Curtis, who preceded him in death on December 14, 2010.He spent almost four years in the Seabees with his twin brother, mostly in the islands of the South Pacific. He worked for Nebraska Consolidated, Master Feed and Seed and 29 years as a representative for Keebler Biscuit. In his retirement years he enjoyed driving cars for Bergstrom Auto.There will be visitation at St. Andrews Church, 1100 E. Murdock Avenue, Oshkosh on Friday, March 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with his funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Karen Jewell and Kermits grandson, Ben, officiating. Entombment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. Memorials in Kermits name may be made to Mercy Medical Center (PO Box 3370 Oshkosh WI 54903-3370). Special thanks to the staffs of Mercy Medical Center, Evergreen Retirement Community and Heartland Hospice.
