Kim M. Maldwin

August 27, 1962 — January 7, 2023

Kim M. Maldwin, age 60, passed away at Ascension-Mercy Medical Center on January 7, 2023. She was born to the late James and Donna (Spierings) Maldwin on August 27, 1962 in Appleton, Wisconsin.


Kim’s favorite things in life were her children and grandchildren. She was an amazing and fun mom/grandma that did anything for her family; their happiness gave her happiness. Additionally, she shared a close bond with her parents for whom she enjoyed spending time with and providing as a caregiver before they passed. Kim loved Christmas and every year she used her eye for interior design to create the perfect Christmas tree. Traveling with friends and family, having a good time, and lunch dates with her sister, Lori, at Caramel Crisp will be remembered amongst the things she enjoyed. Kim will be greatly missed by all who knew her.


Kim is survived by her three children, Ashley (Andrew) Kortbein, Courtney (Jacob) Hintze, and Josh (Kelsey) Pik; grandchildren, Kennedy, Sydney, Sawyer, London, Harrison, Sophie, Noah, Peyton, Savannah; Boyfriend, Kevin Lanaghan; and Siblings, Lori Wendt, and Jeffrey (Lisa) Maldwin. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Kim is further survived by her beloved cats, Zoey and Sailor.


In addition to her parents, Kim was preceded in death by her infant grandson, Liam, and brother-in-law, Karl Wendt.


A private celebration of life has been held By Kim’s family.


In remembrance of Kim, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Oshkosh Humane Society.


The family would like to thank Dr. Heraly and the entire staff at Ascension-Mercy Medical Center for the love and care they provided Kim.
