Laverne Hazel Zweiger

LaVerne H. Zweiger, 74 of San Jacinto, CA, formerly of Oshkosh died on Wednesday, September 6, 2006. She was born in Oshkosh on September 30, 1931, a daughter of Henry and Ruth Dougherty Hoffman.LaVerne married Roger Zweiger on May 13, 1963 in Pasadena, California.Prior to moving to California she had been employed at Oshkosh BGosh, and had been a member of First English Lutheran Church. In their over forty years of marriage, Roger and LaVerne came home to Oshkosh every year. While Roger was still working, his job took him to many cities around the country. If one of these cities was near Wisconsin, they would come home several times a year.One of the things we will remember about LaVerne is when she came home; she seldom sat down five minutes. She was always cleaning cupboards, organizing drawers or shampooing rugs, just so she could help mom. Their last time home was May 2003, for Jeff and Angies wedding. It was also Roger and LaVernes fortieth wedding anniversary.Survivors include her husband Roger, of San Jacinto, CA; one brother, James (Betsy) Hoffman, of Oshkosh; one sister, Jean (Richard) Weber, of Oshkosh; one sister-in-law, Violet Zweiger, of Oshkosh; and nephews, Jeff (Angie) Hoffman, of Appleton; Michael (Pat) Zweiger, of Oshkosh; Paul (Debbie) Zweiger, of Oshkosh; Tom Zweiger, of Washington; nieces Christine (Jeff) Korth, of Omro; and Cathie Hoffman, of Oshkosh; Kathleen Murray, of California; and grand nieces and nephews. LaVerne was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne Webber, and a brother-in-law, Raphael Zweiger.Funeral services will be at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside on Thursday, Sept.14, 2006 at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Chuck Flugel officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from noon to the time of service. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial has been established.
