Lawrence Albert Krueger

Lawrence Albert Krueger, 92, Oshkosh, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016, with his family by his side. He was born March 9, 1924, in Oshkosh, son of Paul and Frieda (Vandersee) Krueger. Larry served our country as a U.S. Navy veteran during WWII, in the South Pacific. He married Leona Bruss on January 25, 1947, in Winneconne, and she preceded him in death on April 28, 1996. Larry was employed by the Oshkosh Fire Department as a Captain until his retirement in 1979. He also worked part-time as a bee keeper, as well as an auto mechanic with Mueller Chrysler Plymouth. Larrys hobbies included fishing, hunting, and rooting for the Packers. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Oshkosh, where he previously served on the church council.Larry is survived by his children: Thomas (Jeanne) Krueger, Gail (David) Christman, Barbara (Gregory) Kargus, and Julie (James) Martin; a son-in-law, Ricardo (Shelly) Trewyn; grandchildren: Kristy Krueger, Sarah (special friend Dave Friedauer) Krueger, Anna (Steve) Mathison, Brian Christman, Katie (Chris Parck) Christman, Kimberly (Steve) Myers, Terri (Jonathan) Marx, Jay Trewyn, Beth (Brent) Cloutier, and Chad Martin; great grandchildren: Kyle Mathison, Kaylee Martin, Evelyn Marx, Gavin Cloutier, James and Leona Myers, and baby boy Marx due any day; a sister, Lorraine Wachholz; sisters-in-law: Joanne Krueger and June (Richard) Kleinschmidt; brothers-in-law: Harold Haak, Dallas Krueger, Donald Eichsteadt, and several nieces and nephews.He was also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Betty Trewyn; a brother, David Krueger; a sister, Caroline Krueger; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Don Wachholz, Alvin and Charlotte Bruss, Emil and Marciel Schmoker, Marion Haak, Merle Witthuhn, Lula Krueger, Susan Eichsteadt. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Zion Lutheran Church, 400 N. Sawyer Street, Oshkosh, with Rev. Jeffrey Knoll officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service.In lieu of flowers, memorials in Larrys name may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, or a charity of your choice.Larrys family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staffs of Bethel Home, Gabriels Villa, and Eden Meadows, for their loving and compassionate care.
