Leon Herbert Genz

Leon H. Genz, age 86, passed away at his home in Wednesday, July 29, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born on November 25, 1928 in Oshkosh, the son of the late Herbert and Mabel (Beattie) Genz. Leon proudly served his country from 1948 until 1952 as a Corporal in the Armys 307th Engineering Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division. Leon was united in marriage to Carol Cramer on February 3, 1996 in Oshkosh. Leon was a member of the AM Vets Post 7 and also enjoyed building RC airplanes, fishing, golfing and bowling. He always treasured spending time with his grandchildren.Leon is survived by his wife, Carol, one son, William (Holly Magrady) Genz, three step-sons, Mark (Becky) Fabisch, Tom (Brenda) Fabisch and Jerome (Kelli) Fabisch; two step-daughters, Cheryl (Alan Mundt) Fabisch and Linda (Mark) Brueske; 14 grandchildren: Alicia, Brandon, Brittany, Sean, Megan, Kayla, Adam, Carly, Loralei, Hannah, Tate, Mike, Susan and Ryan; further survived by other relatives and dear friends. Leon is preceded in death by three sisters, Betty, Joyce and Arlene.Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 12:00 noon, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Drive. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park with military honors.The family would like to thank Affinity Visiting Nurses Hospice, especially Liz, Kerry, Ryan, Ann, Penny Sue and all of the volunteers that came and gave their time and support during Leons illness. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
