Leonard Arthur Ruechel

Leonard A. Ruechel, 87, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday June 15, 2010 at Aurora Medical Center. He was born October 16, 1922 in Briarton, Wisconsin a son of Herbert and Edith Burger Ruechel. On January 5, 1945 he married Ruth Hannis at Zion Lutheran Church in Zion.He was a self employed building contactor. He was an avid hunter especially enjoying big game hunting out west, carving decoys, fishing, golfing, and traveling. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 148 F&AM, Zoar Shrine A.O.N.M.S, and he rode small bikes in local parades.He is survived by his wife Ruth, one son Steve(Nancy) of Georgia, two daughters Eileen Ruechel of Oshkosh, Valerie(Jack) Beatty of Florida, two grandchildren Dawn and Lori, three great-grandchildren Willow, Duncan, Brayden.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Elaine Bathke.Funeral services for Leonard will be held on Friday June 18, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 17, 2010 from 5p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home and on Friday one hour prior to the service. A Masonic service will be held on Thursday at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery.
